Overview of Coated Carbon Steel Nails

01. Introduction to Yingfeng Carbon Steel Coated Self-Drilling Screws

Yingfeng carbon steel coated self-drilling screws are high-efficiency, multifunctional fasteners that combine drilling, tapping, and fastening capabilities.

These galvanized carbon steel self-drilling screws are manufactured from high-quality carbon steel grades such as 1022A and 10B21. Through carburizing heat treatment, they achieve a precise balance between hardness and toughness, while rigorous process control ensures “zero hydrogen embrittlement.”

Designed specifically for indoor steel structure applications where the fasteners remain unexposed to the elements, these screws feature a trivalent iridescent zinc electroplating finish with a coating thickness of at least 6μm. They withstand 200 hours of salt spray testing without showing red rust and offer a rust-resistance lifespan of over 10 years in suitable environments, providing a professional and reliable fastening solution for steel structures.

Key Advantages of Coated Carbon Steel Nails

Carburizing heat treatment to enhance hardness properties.

Following the carburizing heat treatment process, the surface hardness of the screws is significantly increased to above HRC53, while the core hardness is maintained within the HRC32–40 range. The resulting screws combine high surface hardness with excellent toughness, thereby significantly enhancing the work efficiency of on-site personnel.

Excellent mechanical properties

Yingfeng’s coated carbon steel self-drilling screws deliver a torque of up to 10 N—significantly exceeding the 8 N standard typically offered by other manufacturers. Their average load-bearing capacity is approximately 15% to 20% higher than that of standard self-drilling screws on the market.

Absence of hydrogen embrittlement

The entire manufacturing process is conducted at room temperature, eliminating the need for high-temperature tempering; this preserves the screw’s strength and prevents hydrogen embrittlement. The production process involves neither acid pickling nor the application of an external electric field, effectively avoiding hydrogen embrittlement and ensuring the product is safe and reliable.

Excellent corrosion and wear resistance

The surface treatment utilizes Sijiada coating technology, effectively protecting fasteners against various corrosive environments while enhancing corrosion and wear resistance. Corrosion resistance levels (C1–C4+) can be customized to project requirements, with top-tier specifications capable of withstanding 2,500 hours of salt spray testing and 30 cycles of acid rain testing.

Environmental Protection and Compliance Assurance

The production process strictly adheres to EU RoHS environmental standards; the products are free from restricted hazardous substances, including—but not limited to—heavy metals such as lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), and hexavalent chromium (Cr⁶⁺). Compliance with global environmental regulations enables customers to expand into broader market opportunities.
